A View From The West: Crewe Alexandra (H)

Ryan Cawley provides The Star Lane End with his ratings following Saturday’s 3-3 draw at home to Crewe Alexandra:

O’Hara – MoM – 9 – Will be disappointed with the first goal but kept us in the game with several quality saves, particularly in the first half.

Hodgkiss – 5 – Poor, all the defence struggled to cope with a quick Crewe attack.

Cameron – 7 – Best of a bad bunch at the back. Our defending from set plays and crosses must improve.

Kellegher – 5.5 – Lost count of the number of times he gave the ball away.

Welch-Hayes – 4 – Being played out of position on his wrong foot didn’t help but the whole left side looked vulnerable first half.

Arthur – 2 – Terrible. Gave away silly fouls and can’t pass. Looked out of his depth. Unsure how he gets a game with several new Jan signings.

Rose – 5.5 – Not one of his better games. Played better second half.

Ntambwe – 6 – Big and strong but will need a few games to settle in the side.

Cole – 7 – Always a threat and has a final ball in him. Great finish to steal a point.

Evans – 6.5 – Please get Callum back in CM Sol!! Lost on the wing.

Scott Wilson: On the score sheet once again for the Silkmen (Image courtesy of Chelsie Wilson).

Wilson – 7 – Scored again but looked better when Smith came on alongside him.

Jules – 7 – Looks an asset, defence was better balanced second half.

Smith – 7 – Did well. Created problems.

Martis – 6 – Pacy lad could be an asset.

Sol – 6 – Evans and Welch-Hayes played out of position. Arthur should be no where near the team and puzzling to see Fitz not in the squad let alone team! No Marsh or Lowe to be seen neither. Stole a point against a good Crewe outfit after a first half where O’Hara kept us in it somehow. Improved second half with subs so credit for that, needs to rethink first team selection. Wins need to come sooner than later, 14 games to go.

All that’s said was an entertaining Cheshire derby that had everything!!
