SLE Fantasy League Update

Happy Friday Silkmen Fans!

Firstly, I’d just like to apologise for having not given an update on the Star Lane Fantasy League for so many weeks!

The last time I gave an update, Mr Yates was still in charge and all hope looked lost for us. My opening paragraphs where I spoke about the Silkmen were a struggle to write with any positivity and without any swear words!

When Sol took over, I like many was sceptical! How wrong I was! Finally, it feels like there may just be a way too pull off a great escape and secure another year in the hallowed English Football League! I think its fair to say, no matter what happens for the remainder of the season, credit has to be given to Mr Campbell for the fantastic work he’s done and the significant changes he’s made to the brand of football we are now watching week in, week out.

Now to the Star Lane Fantasy League! It seems that I myself is becoming somewhat of a Mark Yates as I sit at the foot of the table along with Sean Worth. Matthew Brown’s ‘In to the Mixer’ currently lead the pack but he’s closely followed by Adam Lomas, Alex Healey, Kyle Stanley and Ronald Wilson. Honourable mentions must also go to Mike Rogerson and John Spinks who could quite easily leap frog in to the title race with a successful weekend.

As well as the Silkmen having a new manager, Manchester United fans feel they have finally found their saviour in Ole Gunnar Solksjaer whilst Liverpool fans are maybe, just maybe starting to believe that this could be their year (I’m not convinced about either of these things in all honesty) but we will see come the end of the season!

The pick of the fixtures this weekend is Arsenal v Chelsea which kicks of at 5.30p.m. on Saturday night and I’m hoping all of us will be able to watch this after we’ve picked up another vital three points against Oldham!

For those Silkmen fans planning a beer prior to kick off on Saturday, Wolves host Leicester in the lunch time kick off and Sunday sees Man City travel to Huddersfield in their bid to catch Liverpool at 1.30p.m. followed by Fulham at home to Tottenham at 4p.m.

I’ll make sure I get back to updating regularly moving forwards!

Up the Silks!
