Man of the Match: Tranmere Rovers (Home)

The Silkmen picked up their first point of 2019 as, despite missing a number of key members of the squad due to injury and suspension, the Moss Rose club fought back to claim a draw against Tranmere Rovers. Despite Sol having to put together a patched up side for the New Year’s Day clash, there were plenty of players who put in a good performance against a Tranmere side who are pushing for a place in the League Two play-offs. So which Macc player do you think kicked off 2019 in style?

The Star Lane End Man of the Match online vote is now open and you can vote via the The Star Lane End Facebook page or email your nomination to Gmacworth@aol.com.

Update following Carlisle United (Away)

The Silkmen’s suffered late heartbreak last Saturday as Carlisle United fought back at Brunton Park to pick up a late winner for the home side and left Sol Campbell’s side heading back to Cheshire wondering what might have been. It was a valiant display against the in-form Cumbrians, who at the time were looking to break into the play-off places and this was recognised by the Star Lane End members who witnessed the game. There were votes for Fiacre Kelleher, Kiaren O’Hara, Tyrone Marsh and Callum Maycock, however for once again putting in a very impressive display in the centre of midfield, it was our resurgent conductor in the side, Michael Rose, who picked up the majority of the votes. Well done Michael and keep up the fantastic work!
