Man of the Match: West Bromwich Albion Under-21’s

Macclesfield Town progressed to the second round of the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening thanks to strikes from in-form Silkmen star Ben Stephens and Koby Arthur. It was important to record a win ahead of our important trip to Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday, however which Macc player do you feel made the difference in the team and propelled us to a morale boosting victory?

The Star Lane End Man of the Match online vote is now open and you can vote in a number of ways, either via the SLE forum (if you currently have access to it), the Star Lane End Facebook page or email your nomination to

Update following Maidstone United (Away) – FA Cup

The Silkmen made a disappointing exit from the FA Cup on Saturday as National League side Maidstone United progressed to the second round of the competition, coming from behind to win 2-1 after Ben Stephens had given Macc a first half lead. For those loyal supporters who made the very long journey to the Gallagher Stadium, there was only one player that stood out in their eyes. Winning his fourth Star Lane End Man of the Match in a row and ultimately taking the lead in the race for the award, step forward Mr Stephens, congratulations once again Ben!
