Man of the Match: Maidstone United (Away) – FA Cup

Macclesfield Town suffered a first round exit from the FA Cup as National League side Maidstone United came from behind to knock The Silkmen out of the famous competition in a day to forget at the Gallagher Stadium. Despite this, which player gave their all and put on a display as they tried to send those loyal Macc supporters home happy, despite this sadly being in vain?

The Star Lane End Man of the Match online vote is now open and you can vote in a number of ways, either via the SLE forum (if you currently have access to it), the Star Lane End Facebook page or email your nomination to

Update following Bury (Home)

In our last home league fixture, The Silkmen suffered a heavy home defeat as The Shakers shook the Moss Rose and inflicted a 4-1 defeat, leaving our beloved blues rooted to the foot of the table. We asked The Star Lane End members who was their Man of the Match against the Gigg Lane side and despite Jared Hodgkiss being recognised for his efforts, it was Macc’s new star Ben Stephens who swept the board with your vote and won his third SLE Man of the Match in a row! Keep up the great work Ben!
