Man of the Match: Carlisle United (Home)

It was a joyous and memorable afternoon at the Moss Rose as Saturday 20th October 2018 will be remembered by Silkmen supporters for a long time to come as the heroes wearing our beloved blue and white shirts picked up those valuable 3 points of the season and our first Football League victory since the 31st December 2011, WOW, how good did that feel?!! Danny Whitaker’s and Neil Howarth’s warriors put in a valiant shift as they came from behind to beat Carlisle United in front of a jubilant home crowd as the infamous anthem, ‘Glad All Over’ rang loudly around the stadium! On a day where each Silkmen player demonstrated our club’s ‘against all odds’ mentality, who was stand out man on the hallowed turf?

The Star Lane End Man of the Match online vote is now open and you can vote in a number of ways, either via the SLE forum (if you currently have access to it), the Star Lane End Facebook page or email your nomination to Gmacworth@aol.com.

The deadline for the Carlisle United Man of the Match is Tuesday 23rd October at 2p.m. and your vote counts as the Star Lane End Player of the Year will pick up their award at the end of the season.

Update following Tranmere Rovers

Despite a disappointing result against Tranmere Rovers in our last league fixture, there were signs of improvement in terms of our performance and SLE users voted for Rhys Taylor, Michael Rose, Nathan Blissett and one fan chose Danny Whitaker for pumping some new energy into the team! However, it was legendary Silkmen defender Keith Lowe who picked up the winning vote for his commanding display in the centre of defence. Well done Keith, keep up the good work!
