Man of the Match: Tranmere Rovers (Away)

The Silkmen put in a much improved performance on Friday evening under the leadership of Danny Whitaker and Neil Howarth and gave high flying Tranmere Rovers a real test, however it was the Prenton Park side who grabbed those all important three points. Despite falling to a narrow defeat, who was your Macclesfield Town Man of the Match?

The Star Lane End Man of the Match online vote is now open and you can vote in a number of ways, either via the SLE forum (if you currently have access to it), the Star Lane End Facebook page or email your nomination to Gmacworth@aol.com.

Sir Danny

The deadline for the Tranmere Man of the Match is Tuesday 16th October at 2p.m. so let us know which Silkmen player stood out under the lights of Prenton Park on Friday night. Your vote counts as the Star Lane End Player of the Year will pick up their award at the end of the season.

Update following Accrington Stanley (Away)

The Sillkmen fell to a 4-1 defeat at League One side Accrington Stanley in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening, however there was only one player who stood out from those Silkmen supporters who witnessed the match at the Wham Stadium. Congratulations to Jared Hodgkiss, who we will always refer to as ‘Captain Fantastic’ following our fairytale promotion back to the Football League.
