A View From The West: Notts County (Home)

Ryan Cawley returns with his ratings following our 1-0 home defeat as The Magpies of Notts County swooped into the Moss Rose to claim all three points:

O’Hara – 5 – Looked shaky all game and lacking confidence. Whilst Kellogg’s, the tame lion was at fault for the pen, I felt Kieran was stuck on his line a lot today.

Hodgkiss – 7 – Commanding and battling performance from our club ca…

Lowe – 9 – MOM – Correctly given Man of the Match award. Was back to his colossus best!

Keeffffffff!!!! You’ll always be a Macc Town ‘God’ to the Silkmen faithful (Photograph courtesy of Chelsie Wilson).

Kellogg’s – 2 – Hoofer, dweller & not good enough. But still not as bad as Grimey!

Fitz – 8 – Tried and tried, then tried some more.

Arthur – 7 – Probably our biggest midfield threat, good couple of balls through to the strikers.

Maycock – 6.5 – Tried hard, was unlucky with a shot at the end. Though like one or two others, not good enough for this league.

Vincenti – 5 – Lanky streak does not look or play like a footballer. He certainly is not a CM.

Marsh – 7 – Worked hard but nothing was coming off.

Wilson – 7 – Same as Marsh.

Blissett – 8 – Won everything (again), a constant threat!

Substitutes

Smith – 0.5 – Won one header. Didn’t look interested.

Napa – 3 – Ran into trouble and shot hit the stand.

Rose – 4 – Tried but nearly dropped the keeper in it with a silly back pass.

Management

Yates – 1 – Gets a point for keeping Askey’s champions in. Substitutes made us worse. Signings not good enough. Would love to know what scouting (if any) was done. We had a far better team on a third of last year’s budget!! Got to go before we’re relegated!

Horny Howarth – Must be heartbreaking for Neil to watch from the sidelines. Painful to know even at his age he’s better then two of our three CB’s!
