Played For Both Teams

Next weekend we entertain Grimsby Town in what is our first home EFL game of the season, we look back at players who have represented both Macclesfield Town and Grimsby.Town over the years.

Martin Gritton – Martin played for 12 clubs in his 14 year professional career including Macclesfield and Grimsby , he went on to make over 100 appearances for the two sides but didn’t score as many goals as he would of liked. Martin’s other clubs in his career were Plymouth, Shelbourne, Torquay, Lincoln, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Yeovil, Stockport, Chester and Truro.

Luke Summerfield – Luke made over 60 appearances for Grimsby over two years where he signed from York City after dropping out of the Football League, in the two years was sent out on loan to Macclesfield Town where he played 18 times.

Connor Jennings – Connor started his career at Stalybridge Celtic in 2008 before catching the eye of Scunthorpe United in 2012 by scoring 50 goals in over 100 games.  He stayed with Scunthorpe for two and half years but he only made 16 appearances, he was sent out on loan in the 2013/14 season to Stockport County, Macclesfield and Grimsby where he got regular football.
