Player profiles: Ben Stephens

Stephens, who can play in an attacking midfield role or as a forward, arrives at The Silkmen after having an incredible season at Southern Premier Division side Stratford Town. The youngster scored 25 goals in 42 starts and his efforts were rewarded at the end of season awards evening which saw him pick up the Manager’s Player of the Year award, Players’ Player of the Year award and the Supporter’s Player of the Year award.

As a schoolboy, Stephens was involved in the Leicester City academy and has also played for Kettering Town before joining Stratford. Ben’s goalscoring form has attracted interest from higher up the English footballing pyramid and he has attended a number of trials at Championship teams. Earlier this month, Stephens participated at Leicester City and England forward Jamie Vardy’s V9 academy.

In June 2018, Stephens signed a two year deal with The Silkmen.
