Silkmen Legends Flock To Support SLE

Silkmen Legends have flocked to support The Star Lane Website as we mark our first month online.

Further to the recent announcement that Gil Prescott has confirmed that we can do an interview with him, we are pleased to announce another three names, all of whom are keen to help us out.

The first is a man that needs no introduction – a lifelong Silkmen fan who has been a part of the club for decades. He was given a special FA Award for his unparalleled loyalty to the club prior to this years FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium – he is the one and only Mr Phil Gibbons.

The next Legend who we will be interviewing over the coming weeks was a goalkeeper who became an iconic figure under Peter Wragg.

Alan “The Cat” Zelem

Nicknamed “The Cat” he played an integral role in our treble winning side of 1987, and represented the club in the 1989 FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium.

He is the legendary Alan Zelem.

Finally for now, we also have confirmed an interview with another key member of that 1987 treble winning team. A man who every schoolboy aspired to be, his name ringed around the playgrounds of Macclesfield by young boys who were in awe of their goal scoring hero.

Burry
