Askey Misses Out on Defender But New Signings Are Imminent

John Askey has missed out on the signature of defender Fraser Kerr after it was revealed earlier today that the Scotsman has joined National League rivals Gateshead.

The 24 year old had been on trial at Macc and impressed during recent friendlies, but has opted to head to the North East to join link up with former Silkman Neill Byrne.

Hopefully it will not all be bad news for Sir John however, as it is believed that the club are due to announce at least one more signing imminently.

Several players who have been on trial have impressed during the two friendly matches, including Koby Arthur, Kieran Kennedy and ‘keeper Alex Gogic who had a stormer between the posts last Saturday against Derby.

Historically, Friday afternoons have been a good time for signing players and it is hoped that before the day is out at least one more name will have committed to The Silkmen for the coming season.

We will of course bring you news of any additional signings here on SLE.
