Macclesfield Town have signed former Torquay and Dover forward Tyrone Marsh following this afternoon’s opening pre-season friendly with Derby County.
The 23 year old has signed a one year deal at the Moss, as Sir John make’s his second signing within the last 24 hours.
Marsh joined Oxford United at the age of 14 and was loaned out to Aylesbury United back in 2011 to get match experience.
He made his senior debut the following year at Elland Road, where Oxford went down 3-0 in a League Cup tie against Leeds United.
The athletic striker then joined Staines Town on loan where he was somewhat prolific, scoring nine goals in just sixteen appearances.
Moves to Welling United and Ebbsfleet United followed, before Marsh signed for Torquay in the summer of 2015.
The goals kept coming at Plainmoor as he notched up seven strikes in just eighteen appearances.
In January of last year, Marsh made the move to Dover Athletic for an undisclosed fee, yet injury hampered his spell at The Crabble as he made just sixteen appearances in eighteen months for our National League rivals.
Last season saw Marsh once again loaned out to Welling United, but another injury hit season saw him make just six appearances.
Tyrone made his debut for The Silkmen in this afternoon’s friendly against Derby and has impressed Sir John enough for him to be offered a contract at the Moss.
