Askey Faces Fight To Land Forward

Macclesfield Town boss John Askey faces a fight if he hopes to land former Chester City forward Elliot Durrell.

The former Hednesford and Wrexham front man has been turning out for National League North side AFC Telford who have revealed that they have made the 27 year old an offer to join them.

Speaking to the Shropshire Star, Bucks Boss Rob Edwards stated –

Elliott’s come in and done fantastically well. He’s a player that we really like and at the moment I wouldn’t say either way where we’re at with it.

What I’ll say is that we’ll be hopeful of something but the ball is now in his court.

I don’t know about his other options. We’ve offered a deal and he’s entitled to have a think”.

He’s been a top pro and really impressive when he’s been here. He’s a great lad around the place too in terms of his leadership and communication skills and is someone we’ll be really keen to get in”.

Sir John has hinted that he may be able to unveil one or two signings as early as this afternoon, but it is unclear at this time whether Durrell will feature.
