Askey Keeps An Eye on Bucks Target Durrell

Silkmen boss John Askey is casting his eye over former Chester midfielder Elliott Durrell, who is currently training with the club.

The 26 year old was released by our Cheshire rivals at the end of last season – much to the bemusement of many fans who thought that he had done more than enough to earn himself a new deal.

Durrell made 46 appearances for Chester last season, scoring eight goals and was also part of Jamie Vardy’s V9 academy last month – hoping to impress scouts who had travelled from all over Europe.

Despite training with Macc, Durrell has also attracted interest from AFC Telford – so much so that he was on their scoresheet last weekend as The Bucks put four past local side Haughmond.

It is thought that Elliott will play some part in Saturday’s home friendly with Derby County as Sir John looks to add new faces to his new look Silkmen side.
